None of us knew each other before. But from the moment we met at the Youth for Equality office, something clicked. What started as a group of strangers quickly turned into a tight-knit team, ready to support a big mission: bringing healthy lifestyle awareness to the local community.<\/p><p data-start=\"418\" data-end=\"915\">\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"917\" data-end=\"1120\">With the help of our amazing coordinators (also international!), we joined forces with the local team to co-create and support a wide range of public activities and workshops during City Health Week.<\/p><p data-start=\"917\" data-end=\"1120\">\u00a0<\/p><hr data-start=\"1122\" data-end=\"1125\" \/><h3 data-start=\"1127\" data-end=\"1183\">\ud83d\udca7 Our first week: Water bongs, smoothies, and sun<\/h3><p data-start=\"1185\" data-end=\"1519\">Our first big action? A colourful, interactive stand at the City Health Week! We invited locals to take part in fun activities like water bong games (yes, hydration can be competitive), mini wellness quizzes, and lifestyle surveys. People stopped by for health tips, nutrition info, or just a refreshing chat on a hot summer day.<\/p><p data-start=\"1185\" data-end=\"1519\">\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"1521\" data-end=\"1756\">We also co-organised outdoor yoga and Zumba sessions, tried our best at Slovak tongue twisters, and explored the city through a historical city game. Trnava, with its medieval charm and modern energy, started feeling like home.<\/p><p data-start=\"1521\" data-end=\"1756\">\u00a0<\/p><hr data-start=\"1758\" data-end=\"1761\" \/><h3 data-start=\"1763\" data-end=\"1818\">\ud83c\udf0d From office to forest: Our second week unfolds<\/h3><p data-start=\"1820\" data-end=\"2106\">By the second week, we felt unstoppable. We kicked things off with an international forest walk for locals and chill chats at a playground in the woods. That same evening, we invited hip-hop dancers hit the streets, and so did we \u2014 dancing alongside locals and passersby who couldn\u2019t resist the beat.<\/p><p data-start=\"1820\" data-end=\"2106\">\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"2108\" data-end=\"2341\">We organised a beach volleyball match under the blazing sun, laughed a lot, and showed that teamwork works both on and off the sand.<\/p><p data-start=\"2108\" data-end=\"2341\">\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"2108\" data-end=\"2341\">Midweek brought another round of yoga \u2014 this time more needed than ever \u2014 to recharge our bodies and minds.<\/p><p data-start=\"2108\" data-end=\"2341\">\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"2343\" data-end=\"2733\">Then came Friday, the ultimate test of our energy and coordination. We supported four different events in one day \u2014 from educational activities for school kids during the \u201cU\u010diaca sa Trnava\u201d festival, to an elegant evening gala for young local changemakers. Our tasks? Language games, puzzles, crowd engagement, setup, support \u2014 you name it. It was exhausting, but unforgettable.<\/p><p data-start=\"2343\" data-end=\"2733\">\u00a0<\/p><hr data-start=\"2735\" data-end=\"2738\" \/><h3 data-start=\"2740\" data-end=\"2776\">\ud83e\udde0 Schools, workshops &amp; impact<\/h3><p data-start=\"2778\" data-end=\"3081\">In our final week, we rolled up our sleeves for workshops at schools and at the office. We helped to organise four workshops in total, covering topics like mental health, first aid, sustainability, and healthy living. We worked in English, Slovak, and Ukrainian \u2014 and the young people\u2019 curiosity made it all worthwhile.<\/p><p data-start=\"2778\" data-end=\"3081\">\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"3083\" data-end=\"3258\">On Eco-Day\u00a0we ran short, fast-paced interactive sessions \u2014 adapting quickly, engaging young people, and learning how to keep things fun <em data-start=\"3240\" data-end=\"3245\">and<\/em> informative.<\/p><hr data-start=\"3260\" data-end=\"3263\" \/><h3 data-start=\"3265\" data-end=\"3319\">\ud83c\udf72 The taste of culture: Our international night<\/h3><p data-start=\"3321\" data-end=\"3672\">One of the most heartwarming moments? Our Cultural Night. Every volunteer \u2014 and our coordinators too \u2014 brought traditional food, drinks, and stories from their countries. We laughed, learned, and even cried (from spice, not emotions \u2014 or maybe both). The night ended with singing Italian songs and dancing to Turkish music under the stars.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><hr data-start=\"3674\" data-end=\"3677\" \/><h3 data-start=\"3679\" data-end=\"3722\">\ud83d\udc9b Reflections from our ESC adventure<\/h3><p data-start=\"3724\" data-end=\"3901\">At first, we didn\u2019t know what to expect \u2014 a new country, new people, new challenges. But what we found in Trnava was something special: friendship, purpose, and inspiration.<\/p><p data-start=\"3724\" data-end=\"3901\">\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"3903\" data-end=\"4216\">The Youth for Equality team welcomed us with open arms. The city embraced our energy. And together, we created something that went far beyond just one week of events. We learned how to work across cultures, how to lead, how to listen, and how to support each other.
