\ud83c\udf0d European Mobility Week in Trnava \ud83c\uddf8\ud83c\uddf0<\/strong><\/h1>

\u00a0<\/p>

As ESC volunteers, we had the amazing opportunity to take part in European Mobility Week<\/strong> in Trnava \u2014 a week full of learning, collaboration, and discovery. Here’s a recap of our journey:<\/p>

\ud83d\udcc5 10.09 \u2013 Arrival day<\/strong>
Our adventure began as we arrived from across Europe \u2014 Ukraine, T\u00fcrkiye, Czechia, Portugal, and Serbia. Some of us had long travels, others shorter, but all roads led to Trnava. The city welcomed us with sunny weather, cozy streets, and a warm atmosphere that set the tone for the days ahead.<\/p>

\ud83d\udcc5 11.09 \u2013 First day: Getting to know each other<\/strong>
We gathered at 9:00 a.m. at the Youth for Equality<\/strong> office. The day began with icebreakers and energizers<\/strong>, making it easier to connect and feel comfortable as a group.
We spent the morning doing team-building activities<\/strong>, followed by an introduction to the week\u2019s program. In the afternoon, we learned about Erasmus+ opportunities<\/strong> and how to use Youthpass<\/strong> to recognize our learning. Later, we explored the city through a fun and educational city game<\/strong>, learning about Trnava’s rich history along the way. You could feel the excitement growing!<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

\ud83d\udcc5 12.09 \u2013 Teamwork & mobility<\/strong>
We dived deeper into the theme of teamwork<\/strong>, continuing with group challenges and reflection. The highlight of the day was an inspiring presentation on European Mobility Week<\/strong>, followed by a workshop on non-formal education<\/strong>. We gained new insights into how learning can happen in creative and participatory ways \u2014 beyond the classroom.<\/p>

\ud83d\udcc5 13.09 \u2013 Transport & electric mobility<\/strong>
This day focused on public transportation and electric vehicles<\/strong>. Together, we explored how mobility works in different countries, shared our personal experiences, and discussed challenges related to sustainable commuting.
We also had a chance to learn more about e-mobility trends<\/strong> and reflect on what eco-friendly transportation could look like in our own cities. After getting the whole introduction of the topic and practical training, throughout the second week of European Mobility Week, we supported and co-organized a series of public activities and workshops aimed at raising awareness about sustainable mobility, energy-saving, and active citizenship.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Here\u2019s what we experienced and helped make happen:<\/p>

\ud83d\udeb2 16.09 \u2013 Exploring European transport systems & future visions<\/strong><\/p>

We kicked off the new week with our usual energizers to boost team spirit, followed by a lively group discussion about transportation systems across Europe. Volunteers compared how different countries handle public transport, cycling, electric vehicles, and other eco-friendly solutions.<\/p>

Later, we moved into a creative workshop where we invited a local youth and we began co-designing our vision for the future of mobility. The ideas we generated imagined a world with cleaner, smarter, and more accessible transportation \u2014 a vision we were excited to share with the public in the days to come.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

\ud83d\udde3\ufe0f 17.09 \u2013 Connecting with Trnava Locals<\/strong><\/p>

With our visions now finalized and presented as artistic posters, we headed out into the sunny streets of Trnava for a public outreach activity.<\/p>

Volunteers worked in small teams to interview local residents, asking them what they knew about European Mobility Week and their views on transport in the city. At the same time, we introduced our own ideas and shared information about Youth for Equality and our volunteer team. It was a great chance to exchange knowledge and connect with the community in a meaningful way.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

\ud83c\udf31 18.09 \u2013 Safe energy & eco-mobility day<\/strong><\/p>

Wednesday\u2019s theme was \u201cSafe Energy\u201d, and the day started with a presentation and group discussion on the topic with local youth. Together, we looked at both challenges and possible solutions related to sustainable energy and transport.<\/p>

In the afternoon, we co-organized an eco-biking event with Trnavsk\u00e1 Klubov\u0148a, where we rode bikes together with local citizens and young people. We also had the chance to explore their youth centers and spend time discussing environmental topics and youth initiatives with local teens.<\/p>

\ud83d\uddf3\ufe0f 19.09 \u2013 Conference on Youth participation<\/strong><\/p>

Thursday marked one of the highlights of the week: we helped to organise a huge conference, which was prepared and hosted by the Youth\u00a0for Equality. The focus was on democracy, youth participation and we also focused on sustainable mobility.<\/p>

The discussion included guest speakers such as Nadia Nov\u00e1kov\u00e1 (European Parliament), Denisa Karabov\u00e1 (European Dialogue), and M\u00e1rio Vr\u00e1be\u013e (young civic activist),<\/strong> who shared valuable insights on how young people can stay informed and use their voices to strengthen democracy.<\/p>

Later that day, we made a trip to Bratislava<\/strong> to see the city at sunset, walk along the Danube (which was unusually high due to recent rains), taste traditional Slovak food, and learn more about the country\u2019s history and culture.<\/p>

\u267b\ufe0f 20.09 \u2013 Car-free day & Community clean-up<\/strong><\/p>

On Friday \u2014 also known as Car-Free Day \u2014 we supported a series of interactive workshops at our festival, using games and engaging methods to help young people understand energy-saving habits and sustainable transport.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

In the afternoon, we organized a community clean-up with locals in one of Trnava\u2019s parks, where we not only collected litter but also created small pieces of environmental art from the trash \u2014 turning waste into awareness.<\/p>

\ud83c\udfd4\ufe0f 21\u201322.09 \u2013 High Tatras adventure<\/strong><\/p>

To wrap up a dynamic and impactful week, the weekend took us out of the city and into the mountains. We spent two unforgettable days hiking in the High Tatras, visiting iconic places like \u0160trbsk\u00e9 Pleso, Popradsk\u00e9 Pleso, and Hrebienok.<\/p>

Surrounded by waterfalls, nature, and postcard-perfect views, we created new memories, shared laughs, and of course, found plenty of photo opportunities. Tired but happy, we returned to Trnava filled with inspiration \u2014 and maybe just a little bit sore from all that hiking.<\/p>

\u2728 It\u2019s hard to imagine a more fulfilling end to the second week of our ESC volunteering journey.
