Where to begin? This Erasmus+ project was one of the best experiences of our lives. For some of us, it was our first time attending a youth exchange, others already had some previous experience. It took place in sunny Mollina in Spain. Since day one, we have been doing so many educational and funny activities which we really enjoyed. These activities were focused on the topics of European values such as human dignity, democracy, human rights, rule of law and many more. This project was a great opportunity to learn about the rights of the young generation and about the power that young people have for changing the world into a better place.
We were also doing so many activities in different teams where we had a chance to get to know so many inspirational people from countries like Spain, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Poland and of course our own country, Slovakia. We were sharing our own ideas, opinions and thoughts about the society we live in. We really enjoyed an activity during which we could create our own country with our own rules, laws, language, rights etc. I appreciated the fact that all the countries created by 6 different teams had rules like No discrimination, no judgement, no racism, no homophobia and so on.
We also loved all the energizers before every activity where we were supposed to train our logical, oral and mental skills. Between activities, we had coffee breaks where we could relax a little bit and talk to other people. In these coffee breaks, every country represented their own typical food and snacks. Every day it was a different country and this also included presentations or videos about the specific country which was a great way to get closer to the country’s culture and lifestyle. „We Are Europe” really opened my eyes. I was fascinated by the fact that so many young people are really creative, fair and smart. They know how to build a better society and they are really open-minded. That’s why I also made so many amazing and strong friendships with these people and when we had to say goodbye to each other, everybody was crying. This project will always stay in my heart because every time when I think about it, only the best memories cross my mind.
