“GENÇLİK 360°- YOUTH 360°” : Policy, Access, Sustainability”
Our project is an expert exchange program coordinated by Isparta Youth Center. Our aim is
to explore EU youth policies on-site and to promote Turkey’s youth policies and the Ministry
of Youth and Sports. At the same time, the project seeks to enhance the functionality of youth
centers, develop sustainable and inclusive practices, strengthen the knowledge and skills of
youth workers and establish long-term international cooperation. The program will be
implemented through workshops, field visits, cultural activities, and sharing sessions in both
domestic and international stages.
Here are the experiences of our Slovak participants:
Recently I took part in an expert exchange project between Turkey and Slovakia. This experience allowed me to grow personally and professionally. For me the most interesting part was when we visited the local elementary school. We volunteered by preparing fun and interactive activities for the students. We spoke with them and encouraged them to speak in English. Outside of the school, we had the chance to explore the city of Isparta and its surroundings. We visited several monuments and cultural places, which helped us understand the local history and daily life. Living in the girls’ university dormitory was also a unique experience. We got to join some of their activities and see what student life in Turkey is like. After completing the project, I understand how youth work functions in Turkey. It helped break many stereotypes people may have and showed me how open, and hardworking the youth work there is. ~Lýdia Boháčová
This project was an enriching experience for me. I was able to learn about Turkey’s rich and well-preserved culture and history. Above all, I met many wonderful people who are dedicated to working with young people, and I was able to see how Youth Centers operate in your country and what great opportunities they offer to children and young people. It was very inspiring to see how you care about building community among people. The highlight of this project for me was visiting the elementary school and spending the morning with the local children. We played games with them and were able to take part in an English lesson and see the curiosity on the children’s faces. The beautiful nature surrounding Isparta was amazing to see and experience as well. I am taking away wonderful memories of the people and places, and above all, a feeling of gratitude for this opportunity. ~Gabriela Tejová
Taking part in this project in Isparta was great experience. During the program, I had opportunity to meet youth workers who are doing amazing job for children and young people. I also had chance to explore Isparta, city of roses and beautiful nature, and its surroundings. I learnt a lot about Turkish culture, their customs, food and music.
