The Migrant Lisa project in Romania was honestly one of the most eye-opening experiences I’ve ever had. Before joining, I thought I understood migration – you hear about it on the news, you see the numbers, you think you get it. But being there, listening to real stories and talking with people who actually lived through it, made me realize how shallow my understanding was. I learned so much about what it really means to be a migrant or a refugee, and the political situation around the world suddenly made so much more sense.
But what made this project truly special were the people. I met so many incredible individuals from different countries, and we built something real. We shared our thoughts, our cultures, our laughs, and honestly – I made friendships that I know are going to last. There’s something about spending time with people who see the world differently that just makes you grow. The team behind the project also did an amazing job keeping the atmosphere warm, open, and respectful. I never felt judged, only welcomed.
I’m just thankful. For the people, the conversations, the new perspective, and everything in between. Migrant Lisa wasn’t just a project – it was a moment in my life I’ll carry with me for a long time.
